About
About Me
So, I’m Tom Castle. I’m currently working towards my PhD in computer science at the University of Kent, Canterbury. My research interests are in Evolutionary Computation and in particular Genetic Programming and Grammatical Evolution. As well as GP, I have a personal interest in classic cryptography and cryptanalysis. I’m predominately a Java developer and I have a number of active web projects too. Outside of computing, I appreciate most arts, and at the moment particularly photography. Mountain walking, XC biking, football and travelling are a few more of my personal habits.

Why TC33…?
TC33 was the user id assigned to me when I first started at UoK back in 2003 and over the years I’ve become rather attached to it. I needed to choose a short and simple domain name with a personal connection, and it seemed like a decent choice.
